Actavis, with headquarters in Iceland, is one of the world's leading players in the development, manufacture, and sale of first-class generic pharmaceuticals, with 11,000 employees operating in about 40 countries around the globe.
Actavis proposed a full range of service ranging from bio-equivalence studies to stability testing, developing and producing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) - the single largest cost component of the business, developing new formulations and producing finished tablet forms in India.
Strategic collaboration with Emcure Pharmaceutical and subsequent agreements with other Indian pharmaceutical companies in ensuring a lower cost base for Actavis products in EU and US markets.
Actavis proposes to perform inhouse R&D studies for pharmaceuticals, including development of solid dosage forms, solutions, semi-solids and other pharmaceutical applications.
Also, proposes to do the development and validation of analytical methods, such as HPLC methods for assay and related substance analysis, GC for residual solvent analysis and other tests.
